POLICY ON USE OF THE IMAGES ON THIS SITE IN YOUR WEB SITE

If you would like to use one of the images on this website on YOUR website, I offer the following arrangement:

Please do not make a copy of the image, but instead please link directly to the image

When you link to the image, please use the following (or equivalent) HTML:

This will insert the image in your web page, along with a hyperlink to my website.  If someone clicks on the image, they'll be directed to my website.  In this way, you get the use of the image, and I get free advertising.  In addition, because the image is served by my web server, I can monitor the use of the image, etc.

The following restrictions apply:

• your use must be appropriate (for example, you may not offer the image for sale).  I am the sole and final decider for whether a use is appropriate or not.
• your use must allow the entire image and border to display properly.  You may not resize or clip the image in such as way as to render the embedded copyright notice unreadable.

This policy also applies to embedding images from this website in online discussion forums.

Use of images from this website which do not conform to this policy will be treated as copyright violations.

Privacy Policy (revised 3/12/2006):

I track visits to this site by perusing (with the assistance of some software) the log files generated by the web server which processes requests.  The log files contain, among other things, your IP address, the date and time of your requests, the type of browser you are running,  the web pages you viewed, and the page you were viewing before you visited this site.  Your IP address may well reveal your identity - for example, your ISP may backtranslate the IP address to johndoe.isp.net. 

All of this information is kept on the same machine which runs the web server.  Reasonable precautions are taken to prevent unauthorized access but no guarantees are made.  The information is not sold or shared with anyone other than the friend who runs the machine.

In addition to this logging, I use the service at www.statcounter.com to accumulate statistics to help me improve this website.  Information similar to that included in the web server log is forwarded to statcounter.com, which aggregates the data and allows me to examine it.

If you find this privacy policy unacceptable, then you should not visit my web site (and probably shouldn't visit ANY web sites).

I don't (and in fact, cannot) collect email addresses of folks who visit my site.  I don't send out bulk email to people, either.  If you get spam which appears to have come from me, let me know and I'll look into who should be punished.
