About Paul Butzi

I'm an avid amateur photographer who lives in rural King County, in Washington state. My photographic resume includes roughly three dozen shows, with at least one show every year since 1996. My prints are in a variety of public, private, and corporate collections worldwide.

I've used a wide variety of cameras, including 35mm SLR's, Leica M series rangefinders, Wisner and Linhof 4x5 view cameras, and a variety of digital cameras. I currently use a Canon EOS-5d mark II and a variety of Canon lenses.

In 2008, I created Solo Photo Book Month (aka SoFoBoMo), and in 2009 I founded Cunning Plans Group, a non-profit corporation, to allow SoFoBoMo to raise funds, and to allow it to continue as a yearly event into the indefinite future.

In addition to my interest in photography, I'm an enthusiastic attender and supporter of live theatre, with a particular interest in supporting the development of new plays. I serve on the Board of Directors at ACT Theatre in Seattle, Washington and was a member of the Board of Directors of Seattle Dramatists.

Long ago, I was a software engineer at Microsoft and Bell Telephone Laboratories.

About This Website

This website is a place for me to share work that's been edited and which I consider more or less finished. That doesn't necessarily mean that I will never do more work on the stuff on this website, only that a particular project or sub-project that's presented here has reached a point where I feel it's worth editing it and putting it in a presentable form.

In contrast, my blog is about my current work in progress and my unfinished musings about various art related things.
